Welcome to Unity of Independence!
We are a thriving community of people who are “spiritual, but not religious." We are a welcoming community, and we honor all of the many paths to God. We honor the divine in ALL people, of all different beliefs and lifestyles. Our sanctuary is wheelchair accessible, and we do everything possible to accommodate those with disabilities. No matter who you are, or where you are on your spiritual journey – you are welcome in our community!

Embrace the Whole Creation by Rev Tom Thorpe
In the first chapter of the Bible we read that God gave humankind dominion. Dominion includes both authority over and responsibility for our environment and all the plants and animals that grow in it. Today we focus on exercising dominion in ways that contribute to the well-being of our environment and all of its creatures, including ourselves.

I AM Awakening by Rev Tom Thorpe
Saying that our nature is Divine, that we are made in God’s image and likeness is rather easy. Remembering our Divine nature, especially when we are engaging challenges, requires regular practice. To “practice the presence of God” is to live from the awareness of God’s presence in ourselves, through ourselves, and as ourselves.
