Parables of the Kingdom

Join Rev Eleanor Fleming as we use our newly acquired skills in metaphysical interpretation in exploring the parables of Jesus. A parable (coming from the Greek parabole) is a story “set alongside something else” from which a spiritual teaching can be drawn. Speaking in parables was a common way to communicate amongst the Semites and continues to be so even today.

The theme of Jesus’ parables was God’s kingdom which aimed to bring a new understanding of God as present and active right here and now. We will first consider 7 parables in the 13th chapter of Matthew, how to access the kingdom, and the obstacles to  entering, and what the parable means in your life.
